The Italian Parliament, with the European Delegation Act 2015, instructed the Government to issue, by 16 September 2017, a more Legislative Decrees with which it comes:
- reintroduced the requirement of having to indicate on the label of food products, the reference of the headquarters of the manufacturing or packaging establishment;
- aligned with the current system of sanctions by the Community provisions.
With the enactment of a more Legislative Decrees in question, the Government will:
- re-regulate the obligation of having to indicate on the label of food products, the reference to the seat (also including the relative address) of the manufacturing or packaging establishment, as appropriate, in order to ensure:
-) A correct and complete information to the consumer;
-) A better and immediate food traceability by the control bodies;
-) A more effective protection of the health of the consumer.
